Preventing diseases or infestations is a much more effective means of keeping pets healthy. Early detection of diseases early can lead to a cure or successful treatment to maintain the pet’s health longer. Also early treatments can greatly reduce the financial aspects of treating. Treating diseases and infestations after they have occurred often leave the pet at greater risk of future health concerns. We recommend a number of preventive health care practices to leave pets protected, encouraging a long and healthy life.

Pest Prevention

Keeping pets protected from heartworm, fleas, and ticks is a regular concern. We can recommend a variety of preventative products that are administered on a monthly basis, and for your pet’s safety these should be used year-round. We offer individualized preventive plans based on your pet’s lifestyle. We’ll be happy to discuss this with you at any time!

Vaccines are so important for our pets. There are a number of deadly diseases that our pets are subject to and using a proper vaccination protocol for each pet helps to ensure their safety. At Venice Pines Veterinary Clinic, we strive to minimize vaccines in order to ensure that your pet is safe and yet not over-vaccinated. As a result, we offer individualized vaccination protocols for each pet, determined by their lifestyle needs.

While some veterinary offices or low cost vaccine clinics may offer what seems to be a low-cost vaccine package, we believe that the physical examination and communication with you is the most import aspect of the wellness visit. Low cost vaccine clinics give vaccines on a yearly basis where we may have a 3 year vaccine for the same or slightly higher price. Your pet may not even need certain vaccines based on their lifestyle. In the long run, low-cost vaccines actually can end up costing you more as a result.
