Dr. MaryAnn (Molly) Caldwell Kraut

Dr. Molly graduated with High Honors from the University Of Florida College Of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. As president of her graduating class, she promoted all classmates to be as energetic and passionate about their profession as the day each graduate got their diploma. She still strives to excel and improve her level of veterinary medicine each and every day.

She was born in Indiana though her family is from Ohio. Her father was in banking and moved the family south and ended up settling in Venice in the late 1970’s. Dr. Molly graduated from Venice High School in 1983 before attending UF and graduating with a B.S. in Agriculture majoring in Animal Science in 1987. In between undergrad and vet school, she backpacked through Europe, worked on Ocala horse farms and then took a position as the Equine Neonatal Intensive Care Supervisor in the Large Animal Hospital at UF. From there, even though she decided to go to vet school, she deferred for one year for a job position in Scone, New South Wales to help start the first “foal unit” in Australia.

After vet school, she moved back to the west coast of Florida and worked in the area before purchasing Venice Pines Veterinary Clinic in December of 1996. She and her husband Jim have been married for 18 years and have 2 children, Jamie, 15, and Will, almost 13. At this time, they just have one crazy dog Taia, but in the past Dr. Molly has flooded the house and the vet clinic with rescues especially from the in house adoption program that had existed at the clinic as well as from Suncoast Humane Society. She served on the board of directors there for 7 years. She still serves on the Board of Directors for Caldwell Trust Company and is a member of the AVMA, FVMA, SWFVMA, AAFP, AHS, AVDS.

        Beth Crosley

        Inventory Manager and CVT

Beth, our inventory manager and senior technician, has been a part of our team since 1999. Beth grew up in the small town of Unionville, PA, southwest of Philadelphia. She lived on a small farm with many horses and other small animals. She has always known that she would end up in the veterinary field. After earning her AS degree in Veterinary Technology from Harcum College she completed an internship at the University of Pennsylvania in 1998, and she earned a certificate of completion in Veterinary Practice Management from St. Petersburg College in 2011.

For Beth, as expected the best part of working at the practice is being able to interact with the animals, but that is not all she gets to do. In terms of technical responsibilities, Beth has a special interest in anesthesia and surgery. She is also amazing at taking blood samples! She really enjoys the management and inventory end of her job as well, because as time goes by it gets a little harder to roll around on the floor with the big dogs!

Beth and her husband William moved to Florida in 1999. They have two wonderful children, Nicholas and Emma, and together they stay very busy. Her family loves baseball and she is a baseball mom! Nicholas has been playing Little League as well as travel ball for many years, and Emma is bouncing between activities, trying to decide what she wants to focus on. Together they have a feisty Jack Russell Terrier named Nittany. They would have more dogs, but Nittany isn’t having any part of that.
